Rick Collett is an expert in hospital operations and brings 20+ years of experience in improving healthcare operations. His skills include the application of advanced analytical methods to healthcare processes to ensure leaner operations and improved patient flow. Rick understands the practical application of Lean-Six Sigma methods for reducing operating costs, improving patient flow, reducing medical errors, cutting cycle time, and eliminating other forms of quality waste. During his career, Rick has been responsible for daily hospital operations and has led financial turnarounds resulting in millions of dollars in tangible cost recovery. In addition, Rick brings experience in the application of Caldwell Butler & Associates proprietary methods for increasing accountability, reducing barriers to change and achieving speed of implementation. These include the application of the 100-Day Workout, Rapid Cycle Testing, SIPOC Team Methods and In-Quality Staffing.
Prior to joining Caldwell Butler & Associates, Rick worked with notable healthcare organizations such as Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Hutcheson Medical Center and Hamilton Medical Center. This rich background provides Rick with experience as a senior leader with insights in hospital operations, ancillary departments, home health/hospice, and rehabilitation services. He now uses these experiences in his role as Managing Principal at Caldwell Butler & Associates to bring clients more efficient operations.
Rick received his Masters in Healthcare Administration from Armstrong State University, Savannah, Georgia. His education also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina. He has achieved Fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
