Robert Barry, PhD, Master Black Belt. Mr. Barry is a Managing Principal at Caldwell Butler & Associates who has written numerous publications related to the integration of Lean methods within the healthcare industry. Robert is an author of the Nan Series, a series of fictional books that depicts, through the main character’s mystery adventures in a hospital, how Six Sigma can be used to eliminate costly medical errors. Robert Barry’s broad expertise includes removing barriers to patient flow and reducing process errors. He brings specific knowledge and expertise in how to design error free processes, which reduce the opportunities for medical errors. Mr. Barry is a proven quality professional who understands what actions need to be taken in order to achieve greater efficiency in clients’ daily operations.
Robert is a registered professional engineer with 30 years experience with Westinghouse Energy Systems. During his time at Westinghouse, he consulted to numerous clients regarding system design. He has also served as a professor at Pennsylvania State University as well as the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Barry’s formal training includes a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated from the Program for Management Development from the Harvard Business School and is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
